Dear Elfos, I don’t even know what to say yet. I am devastated. I’ve wanted to visit you and your family again for so long. Now it’s too late….

You’ve been through so much. You were rescued from a shelter by Julieta, you spent 7 months on the streets of NRW, you were a safe street dog, but I remember the day you came to us like it was yesterday. How you immediately had faith in us and put your past aside. You were finally safe.

I also remember how you ran across the meadow with me, how you lay next to me when I was ill. How we brought this dog to safety together and how you showed her that she could trust me. How we howled together and you played with Nala in the garden. There were sooooo many wonderful moments with you, even though you were only with us for 6 weeks.

You were my favourite dog.

I let you go back then because there was a great family waiting for you who could give you what you needed. You had such incredibly wonderful years with this great family. You were loved there and were the best friend. I am so grateful for that.

Thank you Elfos for being there. Thank you for sneaking into my heart. Thank you for making a family so happy and for accompanying them for so many years.
