Dear Holly,

As you were, you were weak and yet so strong.

As you were, you were beautiful and yet you were often looked down upon or even questioned. Just as you were, you were full of life energy and yet always very close to death. The way you were, you were simply unique and wonderful!

Who has ever claimed that you have to be perfect to be loved? Nobody. You have embodied the perfectly imperfect in the truest sense of the word and captured the hearts of an incredible number of people.

Lovely, funny and sometimes cheeky, you gave death the finger for so long, but now the time had come when your hope disappeared and even more so your strength.

Your mum Marion, who was at least as brave as you, decided for your own good to have you put to sleep, showing strength, courage and love. She held you until your last breath and believe me, little Holly, not a day goes by that you are not missed…..

As many of you may remember, last year we launched an appeal for donations so that Holly could receive the best possible medicine so that she could spend another time here on earth with us.

We would like to thank all the donors who helped Holly to live out her last months full of joy and without pain. She deserved it so much. With her carefree nature, Holly not only delighted us humans, but also helped many foster dogs.

Little Holly, we’re sure you’ll be just as happy running across the meadows in heaven and infecting everyone up there with your good humour
